We provide support for all aspects of the design and planning process. A’Vents by August offers creative wedding and social event planning and is experienced in corporate and nonprofit program development and special events. About Owner
Alicia August-Wright
is the founder of A’Vents by August; an innovator who can bring your project to
life, from concept to execution. Her attention to detail, style and her ability
to enhance and bring life to her client’s vision is where she excels. “I have always been a creative soul from
visual arts to performing arts, from paint brushes to pointe shoes and now
planning rewarding events for others.
Alicia co-owns The
Invitation Lounge Chicago, a digital marketing service that impacts an audience
of over 10,000. In 2010, she was selected by Rolling Out Magazine as one of the
Top 25 Influential Women in Chicago. Alicia is also Co-founder of the event StreetFood
Artistry 2011 ~ Where Foodies Unit, an annual festival and celebration of
Chicago’s street food and art scene.
Before pursuing
A’Vents by August as full-time, Alicia spent over ten years working in project
management and administration creating corporate events for Rush Presbyterian/
St. Luke’s Medical Center, University of Chicago Medical Center, Mayer Brown
LLP and more. She was lead coordinator
on many employee appreciations and other corporate events, incentive programs,
concierge services and training sessions. She has coordinated events from 2 to
20,000 guests, including weddings, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, and
fundraisers.
